Gaelcholáiste Mhaigh Nuad – An Eolaí Óg
D’éirigh le trí iontrálacha ó Ghaelcholáiste Mhaigh Nuad áit a bhaint amach sa chomórtas Eolaí Óg san aoisghrúpa sóisearach ag leibhéal na h-iar-bhunscoile. Is mór an t-éacht atá bainte amach ag na scoláirí seo mar gur iad na chéad scoláirí riamh ón scoil chun tabhairt faoin lá mór san RDS chun a gcuid tionscnaimh a chur i láthair.
I measc na scoláirí tá grúpa amháin le tionscnamh i gcatagóir na teicneolaíochta agus iad ag fiosrú aláram atá cost-éifeachtúil le haghaidh meaisíní AED.
Tá beirt scoláire aonaracha le tionscnaimh faoi leith. I réimse na teicneolaíochta tá tionscnamh a dhéanann cur síos ar an t-éifeacht atá ag na meáin ar torthaí AI.
Sa chatagóir Eolaíochtaí Ceimiceacha, Fisiceacha agus Matamaiticiúil, tá tionscnamh eile atá bunaithe ar theaglamaí sa mhatamaitic agus an t-éifeacht atá ag athrú rialacha ar sin.
Guímid gach rath ar na daltaí iontacha seo agus a múinteoir comhoibrithe. Tá siad ag obair go dian ag ullmhú don ócáid i mí Eanáir.
Three of our entries into the BT Young Scientist Exhibition managed to achieve a place in the Junior age-group of the competition at post-primary level. This was a huge achievement for the students and the school, particularly, as it is Gaelcholáiste Mhaigh Nuad’s first set of students to ever reach the exhibition held in the RDS where they will get the opportunity to present their research and findings.
One group has entered their project into the technology category of the competition and are investigating a cost-effective alarm system for AED machines.
Two individual students have also entered projects into the competition, one project has been entered once again under the technology category and the project focuses on the effects of social media on AI results. The other individual project is aiming to investigate the effect that changes in rules have on mathematical combinations and has been entered into the Chemical, Physical and Mathematical category.
We wish these amazing students and their hard-working co-operative teacher the very best of luck with the hard work that is to follow over the next couple of weeks in the lead up to the big day!
