Annual Hospice Coffee Morning at Confey College

Confey College Annual Hospice Coffee Morning.
The Confey College annual Hospice Coffee Morning wass back in full swing this
year and TY students along with 1st years students had a wonderful day on Oct
5th. Each year Transition year students host all first years in a pop-up cafe, they
bake treats, organise games and entertainment and welcome the new students
to Confey College. Every year is a great success and great fun and this one was
no exception.
Transition Year students pulled out all the stops to make it a joyful and
memorable occasion for all! They researched the work of the hospice during their
religion class times. They gave a short presentation on the work of the hospice in
their local community to each first year group. Makings young people aware of
the role that the hospice plays in their local community is key to understanding
that everyone. can support their local hospice. The students wanted to raise
monies for their local hospice and at the same time make sure that first year
students had a fun time doing so.
The morning raised over 260 euros for St. Bridget’s Hospice in Newbridge. The
school has been involved in raising funds for the hospice over the last twenty
years. Ms O’Connor the organisier of the morning thanked all the students for
their efforts and also wanted to say a special word of thanks to SuperValu,
Leixlip, particularly Rita, Aaron, Lorraine and Noel for sponsoring goodies on the
day
