Gaelcholáiste Mhaigh Nuad – Buaiteoirí uile-Éireann – MY EU 50

Buaiteoirí uile-Éireann MYEU50

Bhí áthas an domhain ar dhaltaí Gaelcholáiste Mhaigh Nuad nuair a bhuaigh siad an comórtas uile-Éireann MYEU50. Ghlac níos mó ná 300 scoil agus 5,000 dalta páirt sa chomórtas. Bhuaigh na daltaí €2,000 agus bhí an deis acu bualadh le hUachtarán an Choimisiúin Eorpaigh, Ursula von der Leyen, an Taoiseach, Mícheál Martin agus an tAire, Thomas Byrne. Bhí ardmholadh d’fhíseán GCMN ‘Daoine Óga agus an tAontas Eorpach’. Bhí lá den scoth ag na daltaí agus bhí an scoil ar fad an-bhródúil astu. Tá buíochas faoi leith ag dul don mhúinteoir ranga, Ciana Ní Tharlaigh a chabhraigh leis na scoláirí agus a spreag iad!

Everyone here at Gaelcholáiste Mhaigh Nuad were recently thrilled to receive some fantastic news, that a group of seven students were All-Ireland winners of the MYEU50 competition that was being run by the European Movement of Ireland to commemorate 50 years since Ireland first joined the European Union. More than 300 schools and 5,000 students took part in the competition. As winners, the students received a prize of €2,000 and obtained the opportunity to meet the President of the European Commision, Ursula von der Leyen, the Taoiseach, Mícheál Martin and the Minister of State for European Affairs, Thomas Byrne. The GCMN students were met with the utmost praise for their video ‘Young People and the European Union’. The students had a very enjoyable day out at the awards ceremony and the entire school is extremely proud of them and their wonderful achievement. A special thank you to the student’s class tutor, Ciana Ní Tharlaigh, that helped and encouraged the students to take part in the competition.
